When will Gasquet start kicking ass again?

I am waiting waiting waiting…..but im really upset cause he ranking keeps dropping. As of right now he is #72!!!!…like 2 or 3 weeks ago he was #48!! he dropped 24 places in 2 or 3 weeks…….. i miss when he was #7 =(….but how many of you think he can bounce back? Possibly the Aussie Open will help? i dunno give your input….um and please don’t insult him or mention anything about cocaine, thanks

He makes one so difficult to root for him consistently because it’s frustrating to see how someone with so much raw talent like him not being able to realise his full potential and ascend the rankings big time. Instead,he just keeps slipping down the rankings like it’s nobody’s business. Somewhat like Marat,underachieving and just fading away.

Before he can resurrect a comeback,he needs to sort many things out,but mainly the things inside his head. He needs to train up a stronger forehand because although it is capable of hitting winners its too erratic,backhand is absolute killer but that’s obviously not enough,needs to get a bigger serve too to avoid getting slaughtered by players with huge serves.

And most importantly,he needs to stop avoiding the French home crowd and get his a** back to Roland Garros! I don’t know what’s going on inside his mind,but it seems to me that Richie has been shying away from the home crowd’s high expectations for him and seems to be regarding tennis as a chore rather than a passion. He was touted as France’s great talent when he was only like 9 or something,probably the pressure and expectations just got to him. And he needs to believe in himself,maybe he could borrow Melanie Oudin’s shoes! I don’t understand how he can lose his famous match against Murray in Wimby when playing for match point and lose against Baghdatis who was playing like absolute crap at that time,if something goes wrong for him at a crucial moment in the match then he just gives the match up.

I believe and hope that he will perform much better in 2010,but given his current ranking he will most likely face a very highly ranked opponent in the 1st round in Grand Slams,so it’s up to him to figure out and bring the great game within him out to get past the 1st round,he deserves much better than that!
